Tony Scherman, Julie Speidel
Winston Wächter is pleased to open our forth solo exhibition with Canadian artist Tony Scherman. The paintings included in this exhibition are centered around Scherman's deconstruction of the Civil War and the themes surrounding it. Scherman has always been drawn to the history of the South through his love of music and created this body of work after visiting the South and studying its history.

Scherman lyrically captures this time period through his richly crafted encaustic works, which are both sensuous and intelligent.

We are also pleased to present our third solo exhibition with Northwest sculptor Julie Speidel. Speidel’s work is rooted in her fascination with ancient megaliths and encouraged by her many travels abroad to Ireland, Turkey, and China. The work included in Chalcidice is comprised of totemic, figurative and abstract sculptures that, like all of her work, evoke a sense of timelessness.

Speidel has created over 15 new pieces for this exhibition, which vary in size and dimension ranging from smaller pieces of about 30 inches to others nearing 10 feet. All of the works included in this exhibition are executed in bronze and stone.
